Tanning before using Philips Lumea:
* Before using Philips Lumea, wait at least 48 hours after tanning.

* Always check the recommended skin-hair color chart and adjust the intensity of light to a lower setting if appropriate to avoid skin reactions and side effects.

Tanning after using Philips Lumea:
* Your skin will be more sensitive immediately after the treatment

Never use IPL if you suffer from any of the diseases listed below:

- If your skin is sensitive in terms of light and you can easily get a rash or allergic reaction.
- If you have infections, eczema, burns, inflammation of hair follicles, open wounds, scrapes, simple herpes, wounds, lacerations, and blood swellings in the areas from which you want to remove hair. If you suffer from diabetes, lupus erythematosus, porphyria, or congestive heart disease.

Never use the device in the following areas:
Warts, tattoos, or permanent makeup. This may lead to burns and discoloration.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) reduces hair regrowth by applying pulses of light to the hair follicle under the skin. Melanin (color pigment) in the hair absorbs light pulses, so the effectiveness is based on the level of melanin in the hair. (Blonde, gray, and white hair does not contain or insufficient melanin, so IPL treatment will not give any results on these hair colors.
